Another year on lockdown yet
you did so much.
How?
I guess because you got pluck!
Not quite lions and tigers and bears
but O My!
There were bears and bears and
Squirrel!
Your son drives now!
And drive he did here, there and everywhere.
Alas that is a story for another poem.
Your son graduated. Then, moved off for his own new adventure.
Road trips. You took two.
For breakfast a favorite restaurant that is new!
Learned the phrase
“more red onions than you think a person would want”
We locked down but
You saw
your mom
your dad
Sandy
Sophia
Lisa and a squirrel!
O and Chrissy too!
To places you went that one should not enter!
Took selfies, and a hike.
Built a garden.
Saw a squirrel no wait that is a racoon!
Visited a tiny library.
Your path this year took you places a many.
Life it seems has you at the precipice of a new stage.
One son is gone.
One so close to choosing his path too.
Without them home what will you do?
Not to worry. You got this.
After all
You go pluck!
